This visualizer compares biological dispersal, oceanographic plausibility, archaeological evidence, genetic signals, historical accounts, and Indigenous Knowledge across the Pacific and western Indian Ocean. It is designed for building testable hypotheses and for keeping contested claims visible without presenting them as settled.
How the map updates: taxa, direction, evidence, confidence, and time controls filter which routes are visible. Environmental overlays apply route-specific plausibility weights, producing an adjusted score shown in the selected route card and model readout.
The score does not convert a contested route into a proven route. It only shows whether the current climate/current scenario makes that corridor more or less plausible inside this heuristic model.
