Similarity or classification is calculated only within compatible method families and documented transformations.
Multiple methods are reported as agreeing, conflicting, or absent rather than averaged into a false certainty.
Validated local references
Original repository files are preserved in a protected, same-origin source archive. Only separately normalized and runtime-validated bundles are exposed to the browser. GitHub, ScienceBase, tDAR, and other repositories are read-only acquisition points; they are never publication targets.
Reproducible intake
The Parish spectral workbooks, full USGS ASCII archive, RockSL archive, and fifteen MURR chert studies reside locally. The unified registry exposes 261 analytical populations: 115 geological-source populations, 101 archaeological-artifact populations, and 45 unresolved or control groups. Eighty-four records have documented generalized map anchors; unmapped populations remain analysis-ready without invented coordinates.
Read-only download or repository-mediated manual intake. Floating branches are rejected by the synchronizer.
Original files remain in local source storage with exact SHA-256 values and academic citation metadata.
Method-specific adapters convert Parish spectra, reviewed MURR INAA tables, USGS ASCII, and RockSL records while preserving instrument family, specimen role, and study provenance.
Schema, record length, specimen role, method family, archive receipt, population checksum, and canonical specimen identity must pass before browser loading.
Technical mineral references cannot be silently promoted into geological provenance source groups.
Only registered normalized bundles are exposed to the browser; original archives remain server-protected.
